EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)

3 to 5 years

The youngest children at The British College of Andorra benefit from a large, well resourced classroom with a height adjustable interactive whiteboard, bathroom and an outdoor play area. The EYFS outdoor play area is gated so the children remain safe and secure at all times.

Our EYFS team follows four principles which underpin the care, development and learning of young children.

Uniqueness

Children embrace learning and development in different ways and at different rates.

Personal skills

Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Interpersonal skills

Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.

Parent-Teacher Collaboration

Children learn and develop well in an enabling environment in which their experiences correspond to their individual needs, and where there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents.

Learning in the EYFS is very active, creative and innovative.

Often learning is informal and spontaneous with children having autonomy over activities within set boundaries.
