Promoter -  Mr Rafael Valverde de Diego 

Mr Rafael Valverde de Diego has over 20 years experience in managing British schools across Spain. His educational career began at the British School of Córdoba which he co-founded and served as its Chairman until 2005. He subsequently founded "British Education System, SL" which is the parent company of the well-recognized group of "St. George British Schools Group", where he served as President until January 2012. During his time here, the St George Group opened four British schools across Spain, specifically in Malaga, Almeria, Seville and Madrid. In 2014, he founded the highly anticipated British College of Gavà (Barcelona) which opened its doors September 2015 with 125 students ages 3-11. Currently, more than 300 pupils ages 3 - 18 are being taught the British National curriculum in Gavà.

 

Director General (Education) - Mr Howard Thomas

After working for 5 years at a school in London, Mr Howard Thomas, embarked on his career in international schools as Director of Secondary, British Council of Madrid. In 2000, he was appointed Director of the British School of Asturias and in 2005, Director of the British School of Córdoba; a role that he maintains to date.

Mr Thomas is responsible for the appointment and supervision of all educational staff members and senior educational representatives. He firmly believes his vision becomes a reality by working closely with the chosen Headteacher and teachers.

In addition, he is an Inspector for NABSS and has directed more than 20 inspections in British schools across Spain. His greatest satisfaction is that all graduates from Córdoba have entered the best universities in Spain, United Kingdom and the United States. His school was one of the first in Spain to achieve official recognition quality (BSO) by the British Government.
